The nishikigoi story

Stillness: Before motion, there is listening.

Two nishikigoi hold the dark water: vermilion, gold, and a single unbroken breath.

Clockwise circle: Ritual becomes current.

Head first, the pair trace a clockwise path—across, down, back, and upward again.

Breakaway: One line refuses the circle.

The white koi turns toward the surface while its companion carries the old orbit onward.

Leap: Water releases what courage began.

The ascent belongs to the scroll: forward into air, backward into the pond.

Ink transformation: A splash remembers the brush.

Water darkens to ink. Droplets become marks. The pond opens into warm washi.

Sumi-e resolution: Leave only the essential.

Colour recedes. Gesture remains—a living composition shaped by restraint.

A scroll story, made still

Nishikigoi—motion distilled to gesture.

A calm, complete version of the six-part narrative is shown because reduced motion is preferred.

The philosophy

Create the feeling.
Remove the noise.

Nishikigoi is a study in directed attention: two living forms, one decisive change, and an interface quiet enough to let the image speak.

We shape digital stories with the economy of ink—every gesture intentional, every transition serving the idea beneath it.

What we shape

Creative systems with a pulse.

  1. 01

    Narrative direction

A clear emotional arc, composed before motion begins.

  2. 02

    Cinematic interaction

Movement that responds to intent and always yields control.

  3. 03

    Digital craft

Expressive detail balanced with accessibility and restraint.

Selected gestures

Water, colour, ink.
